Mayor's Message
Dear Sea Girt Residents and Visitors,
I am pleased to report that our project Operation Come Back-Sea Girt
is progressing.
Sea Girt Boardwalk Repair - Phase 1: Work starts next week. This area of the
Boro will be closed off from routine traffic due to safety concerns for our
residents.
To view a copy of the briefing on the Boardwalk presented at our last
Council Meeting click here.
Advisory Based Flood Elevation Map:
Residents are reminded to check their Hurricane Sandy Base Flood Elevations
(ABFEs) by going to www.region2coastal.com/sandy/table and go to the section "Check Your Address" for your current ABFE information.
I share many of your concerns on the new FEMA Flood Advisory Maps (ABFE)-to
that end I met with FEMA last week to express my concern about their
location of the flood zones. The proposed final FEMA flood map should be out
in late August 2013.
This matter is an example of how the governing body of Sea Girt will
continue to advocate with the state and federal officials on behalf of Sea
Girt and its residents.
Reminder: The Administrator puts out a weekly electronic newsletter on
behalf of the Governing body, it's worth signing up - to do so, look at Sea Girt website or email the following: abunting@seagirtboro.com
Communications are a key focus of mine-to ensure we continually keep the
residents we serve posted on key issues-to that end suggest you sign up for
programs at the bottom of my message.
Together we will continue to work to improve on the great legacy of Sea
Girt.
Sincerely,
Ken Farrell, Mayor of Sea Girt
