Disposable household items should be placed at the curb after 6 pm the preceding Saturday. Refrigerator, air conditioners, de-humidifiers, and other appliances containing freon must display a permit sticker that can be purchased at Borough Hall. Doors MUST be removed from all washers, dryers, refrigerators, etc. We will not pick up: automotive parts, tires, building materials, tree stumps, chemicals, paints or concrete blocks, bricks, etc

The Borough has conveniently placed several bins and sheds at the Borough Yard located at Philadelphia Boulevard and Bell Place, for our residents to drop off recyclables. The bins and shed are labeled as follows: Commingled, Newspapers, Magazines/Junk Mail, Cardboard, Brush, Bulk
Household Garbage Days

The garbage must be easily accessible and stored in bags (loose garbage in a can will not be accepted). The men are not allowed to enter any garages, sheds or homes to collect garbage. Metal cans and bungee cords help to deter animals. Garbage must be ready for pick-up at 7:00am.


RECYCLING
ALL Recyclables are picked up on WEDNESDAY unless otherwise noted in the Holiday schedule. Bottles, cans and plastics may be commingled in open containers no larger than 30 gallons. All cans must have holes in the bottom to drain off liquids and rain water. Remove all caps and rinse containers.
Newspapers, magazines and junk mail must be tied with string or twine: no tape, no plastic, no brown bags.
 
Shredded Paper: Place in bag and bring to Recycle Yard
CARDBOARD: (corrugated only) will be picked up curbside on Wednesdays. Must be tied and bundled. It may also be brought to the yard. All boxes must be free of packing material and debries. Styrofoam packing (peanuts, should be bagged and put with household garbage).
WINTER GARBAGE COLLECTION
In the event of snow, garbage may be placed at the curb. Garbage will be picked up in the back yard ONLY IF THERE IS A WALKWAY FREE FROM SNOW AND ICE.
GARDEN TRASH
Will be picked up on Mondays, unless it is a Holiday then it will be picked up on Tuesday. Garden trash is to be placed at the curb after 6pm the preceding Sunday in open containers only. no bags or cardboard boxes. Branches are to be tied in bundles no larger than 4 feet by 2 feet. If they are not tied they will not be picked up.
There is no grass pickup.
LEAVES
Are picked up curbside in Spring, April 15-May 15 and fall, October 15-December 15. Leaves are to be raked to the gutter Do not mix grass, flowers or branches in the leaves.
BATTERIES
Are accepted at the Borough Yard. Borough Hall, and the Post Office. These locations are for all household batteries. Automobile batteries may only be brought to the Borough Yard.
USED MOTER OIL
We do accept used motor oil. It must be in sealed containers and not mixed with any other liquids or chemicals.
HAZARDOUS WASTES
We do not accept any hazardous wastes (paint, chemical, fertilizers, etc) Monmouth County has a facility set up to accept these products. Please call the Monmouth County Household Hazardous Waste Facility for information, directions, or an appointment. Their phone number is 732.922.2234 and their hours are Tuesday to Saturday 8am-4pm.
